Our team

Broadway Engineering have a highly skilled and loyal workforce. Most of our team are 'time served' and hold City & Guilds craft qualifications, with a high percentage studying for higher education. All Broadway employees have their training needs catered for and a skills matrix is in place, delivering a highly adaptable workforce across all sectors of the business. The Broadway Engineering management team encourages open communication and involvement between departments, to further their development potential, as well as ensuring the business' continuous improvement. This ultimately leads to higher standards and increased customer satisfaction.

Broadway recruit several new engineering apprentices each year. We view an apprenticeship as a long term commitment and expect our apprentices to come through the training programme and go on to develop their careers at Broadway. Apprentices are put through a nationally recognised programme, overseen by an external body (Brunel Training Group) which leads to the NVQ3 qualification. Each apprentice has an individual training plan, typically taken over four years, which includes working in different areas of the factory. We also facilitate day release to the City of Bristol college to study City & Guilds, the National Certificate or the Higher National Certificate. Whilst academic achievement is important, we also value a natural interest and affinity for engineering and tailor our apprenticeships accordingly, successfully delivering these on an individual basis.

The workforce on the 'shop floor' have acquired some unique skills by being granted autonomy when programming and determining strategies. They are given the basics, then encouraged to participate their own thoughts and methods to manufacture some of the challenging items they encounter. This has enabled us to develop a highly skilled workforce who are able to work within 0.005 of a millimetre to ensure that we continue to deliver the very best quality and services to our customers.
